Continuing exploring how I could take the screen print further, I mentioned that David Carson's works inspired me. His works showing me that letters, fonts, sizes can be images to make the graft design more interesting and have more layers. So I took few test to my works as well.
Using tapes add layers, repeating the letters.
Different colours as the background.
Darker background and less letters on but bigger.
No more layers, additions, just simple fond on the original print.
After all these trying and trying, I recognise what I want just some simple letter stamps on the top of the print, no messy layers, no dramatic.
As you can see the images are the final outcome of the printmaking for this project. From the details images, you can see, I do play the letters a bit, different size, and arrange them by different directions, some of them are really small, I also use the exclamation marks instead of ' i'. All I can say is, it's a simple image by the end but with interesting details. When the audience goes closer, there are something can feed them, give them curious. People may curious what the image representing, what the words mean, that all will lead the to read the beautiful poetry The Love Song.
However, there is only one thing bother by the end which is I can't find a right way to show my work, I tried frame it, and I hate it. I guess I just explore more about how to present image works from now on.
