Six weeks' Time project is finished, I would like to talk about during this project what I have learned, what I have improved and what I should do more in the future.
At the beginning of the project, we been introduced two new ways to create art and present art. Video making and performance art. I did actually enjoying the video making and the GIF making. Once you see your ideas showing by a movement, it becomes more alive and interesting.
I also encouraged myself to out of my comfort zoom to do a performance art in the public. That was the bravest thing about art I have done so far. My own perform makes me understanding more about performance art. Before I always thought it's a bit silly and sometimes even doesn't make any sense. While I stood outside and myself as a part of the perform I feel that it gives a power, that power could exaggerate the meaning of the perform and I even don't care if no one knows what I am presenting. I feel at that moment I don't care about any other things, because I am the art itself.
During the perform I apparently know the importance of film making and editing. For perform, recording is a huge part for the process, both photography and video. During the whole project I did trying several video making and editing. Knowing how to cut them, adding them together, change the speed and the background voice.
( slow motion to record water drop dripping)
However, what I have done just really basic skills about making video, there are a lot more to learn, such as I want to add my own voice to the video.
For the skill of screen print, I learned how to make the screen by myself and I did it as well.
For the ceramic skills I also explored a new way to transfer different material into ceramic by without changing it's original form. If take this experiment further, I would like to explore more about the scale, could it be bigger?
Inspiration and artist research. For the inspiration of this project, I found that poetry is a great way to get inspirations, and the words, then sentences could be created physical art works as well. I feel my works are more connecting with the artists who inspired me at this project.
What I was not happy about myself during this project is that I was lost in the middle of the process. I was drowning into all experiments and completely lose the connection with the topic. It's kind of back to the story line by the end though.
Over all, I quite enjoyed this project. It encouraged me that I should to create something that based on my own experiences which I never done it before. Could be come true by next project.
