As the time passing by, the pompoms sculpture finally come out and let us see the results.
Because the main colour of the objects are white, therefore I choose black as the background to make the image could have a strong contrast, by the contrast the texture and the twist of the wools could show more obviously. I do like the first form most, because the black lines are more nature and relax on it and not too much.
My second favourite is the form that I made by the whole role of the wool. In the middle of the sculpture has a concavity which made by my thumb when I hold it dipping in the clay. Because of this concavity, this form has a movement and personality, it's not just a form of wool. However, the glazing black line could be better with other directions or just reduce them to two lines, I can't feel the flowing visual expressions as the first one.
Now the last one, it's the one I don't like. Neither the form nor the glazing lines. The form just like a wet and upset old mop, the glazing lines are messy without any directions. Well, I guess that's a good thing that I did make different forms, so now I know which one I like and which one I don't.
Over all , I have to say that I recognise my photograph skills has been improved somehow. We don't have photograph studio for our class, however, when you want to take nice pictures of your works, especially sculptures with details, you need good lights, relevant backgrounds. Somehow I managed it by two pieces of sugar paper and just a floor corner. Good photo shoot is extremely important language for the outcomes, it makes them can talk by themselves.
