Collagraph Print Making

During this week, after I completed all the group works of lace legacy, I did couple of experiments, one of them is collagraph print.

Actually I been watching a artist doing this for a while, she used all the old boxes as you can see.

She likes to create buildings as her print's main subject. Even she finished the print, however, the plate could be a piece of work by itself as well.

Then you could see my work.

So for this design I actually only used two pieces of the plastic shapes that we did emboss session. The main one in the middle, I made the strips like mesh. Therefore, for the process I forgot a important part which is I supposed to give the plate a top coat on the part I peeled off. It's for protection, so we can use the plate again. So my plate only could use once.

Take off that part of process, I do like the outcome. Some how it has a dark and Gothic style, especially the edges.

I think, maybe next time create something more complicated.
