As I trying to find inspirations from other artists to see how they express " diversity" by their art works. There is an artist which I found a deep bound with him.
Rirkrit Tiravanija ( Thai, born 1961)
As he said" My starting point was the search for my identity in foreign places, in places where I am estranged from myself."
I kind of having the same experience as him which is living in anther country, speaking another language, having another life. Does that changed our identity? Am I still a Chinese?
Once we move to another country I guess we all will be a bit confused. Who we are? We are trying hard to fit in everyday. However, the only thing we won't change maybe the food we eat. We still cooking our own food. I guess let people try our food such as rice or dumplings, is a way to bring diversity to another country.

He used MUST in this sentence to express emphasis. Who said that? Who told you that? As an Asian by myself I could feel the artist situation. He used a sarcasm way to delivery his thought about diversity. That's also inspired me to have the sentence in my poster " I NEVER HAD DUMPLINGS BEFORE" And it is true. I actually had a sharing dumplings event in my class and there are few of people never had dumplings before. And when I served to them, they still don't want to try. They are not vegan, not religion, just don't want to try. That makes me even more certain about I did the right thing about this poster.
However, back to the poster design.
I used the image that my teacher hold my ceramic dumplings with his apron. He is holding dumplings but not dumplings. Playing the subject matters again here.
Changing the images colour by different paper's colour. I do like this design, the cutting is crisp, I think my carving skill is improved.
Then I cut the back ground out and try to add texture on it.
However, I don't like it as before. The back ground kind of kill the clean vision of the whole image. So I stopped and started to added the sentence.
I like this final image and prefer the black back ground. It has a high contrast and delivered my thought clearly.
However, if this poster gonna display on the exhibition, the paper is probably not good enough. I need something better quality and what it could be?
