When I saw the Japan prisoner's picture from World War Two, it reminded me Chinese history immediately. What they did to us, how many people they killed on my mother land? And as an country, they never did an apologize to China. And Japan actually denied that they did it, they wiped the whole thing out of the history like they didn't do it. However, we do have proof of it- Nanjing Massacre
Then I thought I should do a war art drawing.
There are two artists I recently researched that paint about human body and emotions.
Denis Sarazhin( born 1982)
This artist has a very mature painting skills but also the painting has his original ideas of the colours, the movement of the body and the facial expression. All I can feel from his painting is struggle and extremely lonely.
Oswaldo Guayasamin
As you can see, this two paintings are only focusing the head and hands, also exaggerating the face. I could say that's a scary face and eyes. However, I feel I can understand what the artist wanted to say. It's about Oppression and resistance.
So I decided to draw and practice my drawing skill which I had to because I have a low skill level.
To be honest, drawing the face was killing me. First one, not too bad, could do better.
I feel this man I painted is weak, he needs a stronger mind, how I could do that?
