What is the object of art? What is the object of art for?
The answer was easy and simple before Marcel Duchamp. Artist draw the object, took photography of the object or used the object as a main element to create something. However, just as what I said, that's all before Duchamp.
After him, absolutely, object of art can be a piece of art by itself. So the readymade things or a collection of readymade things could be art outcomes as well.
Object's position has been changed in the art world, it also changed the whole art world! Was it a good change? By using readymade things and display them in a gallery, can people call that is art? To be honest, I have no idea. In my mind, I will always have ambivalence to this relationship which is the relationship between object and art.
Photogram of milk bottle
1949- 1951
By Nigel Henderson 1917- 1985
As we can see, this photogram art used the object which is a milk bottle to create something, so that's the original position of object. And I love this photogram. By the image you can see the interesting texture and the sharp edges of the bottle. Also the highlight on the top.

Tate Thames Dig

So now we move forward to the art which is object be a piece of art by itself. However, this is a big collection. Artist with his team digging the riverbank before Tate Morden started to build. This big amounts of collection of pieces have a meaning. It shows the history of Thames. That's the reason why I like this collection and even the artist did create anything.

Grandmother Totem

Now we are moving forward to the object being itself as an art outcome. As you can see, it just television, fridge and washing machine been laying together. By the title, I could understand what the artist wanted to deliver to the audience. It's a symbol of his grandmother. I guess it's the how the artist to remember his grandmother. Then I do have my doubt, is there a necessary to display these things in a gallery? Does it could be called art?
I am not an artist. I am an art learner and an art explorer. I guess we all have doubts of art, we questioning art and ourselves both time. There's nothing wrong or right, because it's art.
