With the continuous development of human society the camera was invented. It has specific functions for daily life, such as document records, advertising and all other kinds of needs to record the moment or memories. It also gave artists inspirations to depict art by a new way. As my tutor said, photography is just a tool that same as drawing, sculptures and printing which artists could deliver their thoughts to the audience.
At here today I am going to analyse two an photography artist's work to help us understand more about photography and art.
This two advert photographies for Audi were taken by a artist called Yang Wang.
He is a young artist which was a dancer before. So as you can see he is really good at catch the movement from human body and also shows the amazing body muscle lines. Absolutely, this two images have their own functions which is sales the Audi cars. However, they still have strong contrast and very well position. As an audience when I saw the images, they make me feel once I drive the car I could ride the wind and flying in the sky.
Now seeing this two pure art photographies, they are not for advertising or anything else, except art. You can feel his style is much strongly showing on the photography. Nude in the nature background with a red scarf that covered the head. Body muscle lines are strong and the stones are strong, does it mean human beings are having a fight with the nature? And the softness of the scarf is making the contrast with all the other elements in this photography. When I see this image, it gives me power.
So inspired by his works, I would like to show you the photography that I took.
The original photo has a interesting main subject which is the girl. However I feel there are too many things around her. So I just used photoshop to change the background becomes to mono, then the girl could stand out. What I want to depict in this image is Hope.
A short conclusion about this topic. Photography can be functional, photography can be arty, photography can be your eye and your language. Its existence does not compete with art. It's just another way to depict art.
