Everything been step by step going as how I planned to do. Every images I use photoshop to change the pixel by three versions then print them out, so I could easy to see how they exactly look like then could transfer them on the screen print. The A1 paper from NTU is a bit thicker than the normal A4 paper, so there is a risk that they won't be transferred very well.
However, after the test, the vegetable oil sock into the paper well, as you can see they been successfully transferred onto the screens.
Then printing process. To be honest, this is the biggest screen I ever done since the beginning. It's a huge challenge to me. Seeing the results, I am really proud of myself though, I made it!
The images been printed very well, and I do love the line effect I made. Also, as a handmade print process, I love the accidents happening on the surface, such as some parts have more inks and some parts missing a tiny bit, it's all adding the character and interesting details to the images when you look closer. I don't like art works too perfect, or looks like made from factories.
Then I am trying to think how to display the outcomes. The surface I choose to print on is hundred percent transparent. Thus, I try to experiment shadows and different backgrounds.
The image above is the shadows clearly shows on the wall and floor. I do like it.
The background just random items in the environments showing as the pictures above. It kind of helps to show the images as well.
Then I used sugar papers against the surface, so it's a fully colour background. The images look strong, if I display the outcomes by four separate pieces hanging on the wall, this will be a way. However, I wanted to layer them up, so I still need to figure it out how I want to show my works by the end!
Print on small pieces and experimenting that should I add the red wards or not?
Lipstick it's a wonderful material for paint though, it's really smooth and easy to spread.
The main piece of the final outcome are done of making for me. The rest of the time, I need to figure out that the perfect way to show them and prepare for the final exhibition, still a lot of things to do!
