As the plan that this project is about female body, identity and strength, so I did some topless photography to support my topic then I could use the image to create art works for next step.
For the first group of photos that I didn't think to much. I just want to see if I could show myself body comfortable front of camera and also shows my attitude which is why women can not topless and topless for women doesn't open symbolling about sex.
Elli helped me to take the images and I do like them. It shows my attitude very well and the light is great as well.
Then I did what I planed to do which is transferring the images onto fabrics by emulsion print. I love the result. The 1980s style, the gaps on the fabric, the modern watch are making a strong contrast. However, I feel the images more like a fashion photograph for sale jeans.
For reduce the fashion style, I crop the images by different part and hue, mono and colour, part of my body and my face, then do the emulsion print again on a big piece of denim.
As result I do like the broken effect and the messy paint accidently make the images more interesting. I especially love the portrait of my face. My expressionless lace gives myself a strong personality, feels like I am asking the audience: what are you looking at?
I like the technique, the effect and the pose, however, is that what I want to tell? Or is the story been told well to the audience? Or there are more stories need to be delivery? The answer is yes, yes and yes! How should I do it then?
